The agribusiness study program collaborates with CV. Bumi Agro in the development of potato agro-industry corporate development activities. The program is held with the aim of developing the local seed industry and providing sustainable assistance to local farmers. An initiative to increase synergy between universities, the business world and industry At PT and CV Bumi Agro Technologies, this collaboration is expected to support the development of the right technology for farmers.
This partnership also provides opportunities for students to gain off-campus learning experience through the Kedaireka program which is recognized as worth 20 credits. This learning process can be carried out at CV Bumi Agro Technology or in collaboration with farmer partners/farmer groups, expanding the university’s business network. The collaboration between the University, CV Bumi Agro Technology, students and other partners is expected to make a significant contribution to the development of the potato raw material industry in the plasma area of CV Bumi Agro Technology farmers. Ultimately, this step is expected to reduce dependence on imported processed potato seeds, increase farmers’ independence, and strengthen processed potato production in Indonesia.
This activity is ongoing with progress as of September 25, 2023 UNPAD with CV. Bumi Agrotechnology has carried out student competency development internships located at the Mitra MF nursery, and also CV. Bumi Agro Technology, as well as farmer competency development activities in Sembalun, Temanggung, and Garut. The program continues with the implementation of evaluation activities with partners, the evaluation is carried out with the aim of having suggestions and inputs regarding the development of the program in the future and creating sustainability.
