From August 2 to 4, 2023, the Plant Clinic Association again held one of the annual Plant Protection Day events. This event is not only an interesting competition for students and professionals in the field of agriculture, but also an important discussion forum through the National Seminar with the theme “Agriculture in the Future: Updating and Innovation of Plant Protection Technology as the Key to a Sustainable Agricultural System”.
The participants, consisting of students and agricultural practitioners from various regions, competed to display their best abilities. Through this competition, it is hoped that innovative solutions will be born that can be implemented in the field, answering challenges in the increasingly complex world of modern agriculture. In a series of Plant Protection Day events, the Plant Clinic Association also held a National Seminar with a theme that is very relevant to the current agricultural conditions, namely “Agriculture in the Future: Updating and Innovate Plant Protection Technology as the Key to a Sustainable Agricultural Management System”. This seminar presents experts and practitioners in the field of agriculture who will share their knowledge and experience in developing and implementing innovative crop protection technologies.
The speakers will discuss various current technologies that can help farmers in facing challenges such as climate change, pest resistance, and declining soil fertility. The speakers at this seminar were Dr. Hanif Fakhrurroja, S.Si., M.T., MCE, CBDA, ITS-AI, CRP (Senior Research at National Research and Innovation Agency) and material 2 was Prof. Dr. Agus Susanto, S.P., M.Si. (Professor of Pest and Plant Disease at University Padjadjaran) Technologies such as the use of more environmentally friendly pesticides, the development of pest-resistant plant varieties, and the application of precision agriculture will be the topics raised in the discussion.
