The Discourse on Predictive versus Explanatory model on Stunting for Early and Targeted Prevention Program.<\/p>\n
Recently we just wrote our work on building a prediction model for stunting in children using machine learning approach. For those who familiar with, the analytical methodology that developed in epidemiology tradition mostly if not all aimed to establish understanding on association toward causality of disease. Later, this knowledge of the causality expected to shape new knowledge of a plausible intervention that further tested through either clinical or community trial. Let’s put our discussion into a context. For example, given that household sanitation was associated with stunting, improving\u00a0 it during early life\u00a0 may reduce the probability of\u00a0 children who living there to have stunting in their later period. With this knowledge we can afford a targeted intervention, namely an intervention that not received by all household, but focus on those who needs it.<\/p>\n
